                                                                       Final Draft

                                                 Inspiration
I found inspiration for this piece because of a new show I am currently watching called Voltron, which has a character that reminds me of Zuko, my favorite character in Avatar the Last Airbender. Zuko was one of my favorites because even though things got tough for him, he always strove to be better, stronger; and when he lost his way, he eventually found a way to be at peace with his past and who he is as a person.

Description
In this piece, Zuko, a firebender, is hovering over a small flame with almost a sad expression. The flame lights up parts of his clothing and skin, keeping the surrounding darkness at bay.

     Interpretation
With this piece, it feels sad, dark and a little cold. Based on Zuko's expression, it is clear he is feeling down as he looks at the fire. The dark background emphasizes how he seems alone, adding to the effect. Instead of coloring the background with colored pencil along with the rest of the piece, I used charcoal. This proved to not only be an efficient way, but it also gave a smoother effect. I made the colors for the outfit as accurate as possible.

    Judgement
What is worth remembering about this piece is how more than one medium is used, unlike past projects of mine, the accuracy of the colors, and the overall mood. I plan on keeping this piece for future reference. I am overall satisfied with the final draft, however, the hands are uneven and weird.
Analysis
Elements like color and shape are used in this project. Principles of design that are also present are balance, proportion and movement. The proportion is slightly off but for the most part is accurate. Even though the character himself is not moving, movement is seen in the flame of the fire.
