concentration 5- soccer

Image
For my final project, I decided to illustrate one reason I would go outside as a kid. I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember and I really loved the sport. I remember in Alaska, my coach was talking to my mom about me and said he was really impressed that I was naturally able to kick well with both feet, I dont know but it made me happy and motivated me to try harder. I am a very competitive person and was more so in soccer and wanted to focus my project around that. I also drew it in a more cartoon like style not only because im lazy but yeah thats it. Overall Im happy I chose this topic for my concentration because I love looking through old pictures and looking back at how different things were, like the time I didnt have crippling depression and an existential crisis every day. But fr, Im glad this is kinda unique compared to my first ideas. If I were to go with one of the first ideas I had, I know 100% I would have either given up or bsed my was through. I k

concentration 4- Favorite game

Image
For my fourth project, I decided on video games, more specifically, Super Mario Bros for the DS. At first I was going to draw little me in the mario universe, watering fire flowers or just chillin or something but scraped it. I settled on the idea of a younger me, dressed in my version of mario's signature outfit, chillin with a spiky boy (my favorite "enemy"). I like how it turned out but the coloring could be better. Some say its brilliant but it was honestly a fluke that I spaced the yellow mountain further away from the yellow question box. So yeah, once again connects to my concentration being that its a game I was obsessed with as a kid. I actually couldnt complete the game on my own back then because I sucked so much at it. I had my cousin, who I was really close to, actually complete it for me. Early 2018 I restarted the game and finished it myself. My highest achievement.

concentration 3- Pets I had

Image
As the title shows, I drew the animals I grew up with. I wanted to draw the animals together to show how they were all part of the family. From oldest to youngest, the cat, Figaro, was a rescue my mom brought home before I was born. He lived a very long life of eighteen years and was arguably one of the most patient cats. There are pictures from when I dressed him in clothes for dolls and put hair clips all in his fur. The cocker spaniel, Charlie lived until he was twelve and was very loyal. When my sister was very young, my mom and dad bought him as a puppy. He was well behaved and trained. Sadie was a golden retriever, living until seven or eight. My family actually bought her from my great aunt in Ohio when their dog, Libby, had one of many litters of puppies. When my dad, sister, new stepmom (ew), and I moved to Florida, my stepmom was a bitch and didnt want to keep her so she forced my dad to give Sadie to church friends. Finally, Scrappy is a yorkie terrier and is currently

concentration 2- houses I lived in

Image
For my second project I drew the houses I grew up in/ lived in. The different sizes of the boxes represent older to newer memories, how with each house I grew physically and as a person, or just a sort of timeline in which order I lived where. I included each address as a way to remember how each house is not like the other, how specific memories are held dear to each place I lived. Overall, I guess Im happy with the final project. My initial intention was to have the oldest house to be in black and white and gradually make the newer house full of color to represent how distant my memories of each place are; obviously that is not what happened because I was being a dumb and forgot. The houses themselves are okay at best, I suck at drawing buildings sooo. When I was planning my concentration, I didnt want to make each piece to be in a storyline, I wanted to just capture and relive significant things I remember from my childhood. This is no exception, it does not connect to the fir

concentration 1- cartoons I liked

Image
My concentration is childhood because looking back on my childhood makes me feel better, I love looking back at old pictures to see from a different perspective of old memories I have. For my first project, I chose cartoons I loved years ago and drew my favorite character from each show. I used colored pencil and marker as my mediums. My idea for this project was to illustrate younger me daydreaming of my favorite shows and not exactly paying attention in school. Overall, I am pleased with the final draft, I wish I had drawn myself differently; however, it does portray me bring younger so I guess its not a total loss. I really like how I drew the characters and I'm pleased with the visible progress I made with drawing human figures and different positions. I want to improve on drawing hands because I still suck.

1st semester projects

Mostly warm colors are found here and I would describe them to be pink and purple. The subject is not centered in the page which is sought after and fills up the majority of the page. Since I used colored pencil, you can see the pencil strokes in the background for example. This piece is simply my tortoise and drawing him more often gives me practice to make the work more realistic and accurate. The piece feels warm and calm, showing no real dark colors and no dramatic pose. For the colors and medium, I feel if I had chose a different color to blend the front feet, a color less harsh, the piece would look better. The back foot is blended nicely and is what I was striving for. The medium of colored pencil is what I am most comfortable with and I feel that the design of the shell is blended well. Since I own this work, I am going to save it to look back and see how I progressed. Form, color, and shape are used in this work. Principles of design are proportion a

Zuko was one of my favorites because even though things got tough for him, he always strove to be better, stronger; and when he lost his way, he eventually found a way to be at peace with his past and who he is as a person. Description In this piece, Zuko, a firebender, is hovering over a small flame with almost a sad expression. The f
